Class Placement
Dancers will be enrolled in levels appropriate to their age and abilities. Level evaluations will be done the first two weeks of classes. Placement may be adjusted at the discretion of the instructor and will be based on the following criteria:

Level 1
- no experience to one year. Enrollment in technique class is recommended.

Level 2
- one to three years experience, must be able to properly execute single pirouette, chaine turns, grand jete, pas-de bouree, pivots, level changes; tap students must know all riffs, maxi-fords, essence. Enrollment in technique class is strongly recommended.

Level 3 and 4
- three to five years experience, must have mastered and be able to combine all Advanced Beginner skills, must know ballet and jazz terminology and positions; tap students must know time steps, Cincinnatis, wings, over the tops, pull backs, and must be able to perform complex rhythms. Enrollment in technique class is strongly recom mended.

Level 5
- over five years experience, teacher recommen dation only. Advanced Jazz/HipHop classes require enroll ment in at least one technique class (except Adult classes).Advanced- over five years experience, teacher recommen dation only. Class Descriptions
Ballet / Technique - Focuses on proper body placement, alignment, flexibility, strength, leaps, and turns. Barre and center floor work based on ballet principals are emphasized. These skills are the foundation for all styles and levels of dance. This class is strongly recommended for all dancers.

Lyrical
- A type of interpretive dance which incorporates jazz and ballet techniques. Routines are performed to popular ballads allowing the dancer freedom of emotional expression.

Modern
- Explores movement, space, rhythm and the dancer's creativity. Students must have previous dance training to enroll in this class due to the complexity of the style.

Tap
- Combines Rhythm and broadway style tap.

Creative Movement
- Introduces children three to five years old to jazz, tap, and ballet while developing motor skills and a creative imagination.

Hip-Hop
- Receive the best of both worlds. Classic Jazz styles with a contemporary twist as well as some funky steps to keep you cool and hip.

B-Boying (Breaking) - Learn basic b-boy skills such as top rocking, the six step, swipes, windmills, freezes, and freestyling.
